- Roy Harold Scherer, Jr., plus tard Roy Harold Fitzgerald (17 novembre 1925 - 2 octobre 1985), connu professionnellement sous le nom de Rock Hudson, était un acteur américain de cinéma et de télévision, reconnu comme un homme romantique de premier plan dans les années 1950 et 1960, notamment dans plusieurs comédies romantiques avec Doris Day. Hudson a été élu « Star de l'année », « Favorite Leading Man », et des titres similaires par de nombreux magazines de cinéma. L'acteur, qui mesurait 1,96 m était l'une des stars de les plus populaires et les plus connues de l'époque. Il a réalisé près de 70 films et a joué dans plusieurs productions télévisées au cours d'une carrière qui s'est étendue sur plus de quatre décennies. Hudson a également été l'une des premières grandes célébrités hollywoodiennes à mourir d'une maladie liée au sida.
