- Danny Glover est un acteur, réalisateur, militant et producteur de cinéma américain, né le 22 juillet 1946 à San Francisco. Il s'intéresse au théâtre pendant ses études universitaires au San Francisco college et fait son apprentissage au "Black actors' workshop" de l'"American conservatory theater". En 1979, Glover fait ses débuts au cinéma aux côtés de Clint Eastwood dans "L'évadé d'Alcatraz" de Don Siegel. En 1985, il enchaîne trois rôles marquants dans "Witness" de Peter Weir, "Silverado" de Lawrence Kasdan et "La couleur pourpre" de Steven Spielberg, qui le révèle au grand public. Le triomphe public arrive en 1987 avec "L'arme fatale" de Richard Donner, où il forme un duo mémorable avec Mel Gibson. La saga, composée de quatre films, lui apporte une grande popularité. Cependant, Glover cherche à diversifier ses rôles, jouant notamment dans "Predator 2", "La rage au coeur" et "Grand canyon". En 1993, il tient le rôle principal dans "Bopha !", le premier film réalisé par Morgan Freeman. Il apparaît ensuite dans des films variés comme "La piste du tueur" (1997) et "Beloved" (1998) de Jonathan Demme. Dans les années 2000, Glover continue à montrer son éclectisme en jouant dans "La famille Tenenbaum" de Wes Anderson, le film d'horreur "Saw", et "Manderlay" de Lars von Trier. En 2007, il est à l'affiche de "Dreamgirls" et prête sa voix au film d'animation "La Ferme en folie". Parallèlement à sa carrière cinématographique, Glover s'engage dans des causes politiques et humanitaires. Il joue également dans des séries télévisées comme "Brothers & Sisters". Dans les années 2010 et 2020, Glover continue à apparaître dans des films variés. On le voit notamment dans "Beyond the lights" (2014), "Almost christmas" (2016), "Sorry to bother you" (2018), "The dead don't die" (2019) et "Jumanji: Next level" (2019). En 2022, il incarne un détective privé dans "American dreamer" de Paul Dektor6. En dehors de son travail d'acteur, Glover est connu pour son engagement dans la lutte pour les droits civiques, l'égalité raciale et les causes humanitaires. Il est également ambassadeur de bonne volonté pour l'UNICEF.
