- Robert Downey Jr., né le 4 avril 1965 à New York, est un acteur et scénariste américain. Révélé à la fin des années 1980, il est nommé pour l'Oscar du meilleur acteur en 1993 pour son interprétation de Charlie Chaplin dans "Chaplin". Cependant, il connaît ensuite une période difficile en raison de graves problèmes de drogue et d'alcool qui le conduisent en prison. Une fois rétabli, il fait un retour en force en 2008 en incarnant Iron Man dans les films de l'Univers cinématographique Marvel, franchise dans laquelle il joue un rôle central pendant plus d'une décennie. Cette performance lui vaut de devenir en 2013 l'un des acteurs les mieux payés au monde. Son retour est également marqué par les succès de "Sherlock Holmes" (2009) et "Sherlock Holmes : Jeu d'ombres" (2011) de Guy Ritchie, où il tient le rôle-titre. En 2023, il incarne Lewis Strauss dans le biopic "Oppenheimer", un rôle qui lui vaut le Golden Globe du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle et le Screen Actors Guild Award du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle. Pour ce même rôle, il reçoit l’Oscar du meilleur acteur dans un second rôle le 11 mars 2024.
